This page is designed to tell you all about the history of All Saints CE Primary School.
1849
All Saints School is built.
1984/85
All Saints School is threatened with closure as numbers drop to 14. There are only 2 classes.
1985/86
The numbers have crept up to 22. There are still 2 classes. Mrs. Hollidge is appointed as headteacher.
1989/90
49 children now attend the school, still in 2 classes. The school house is incorporated for school use to provide an office, stockroom and staffroom.
1990/91
The school keeps growing. A third class is needed for the 57 children now on roll.
1995/96
There are now 83 children in the 3 classes. The school receives its first visit from OFSTED. The report is very successful.
1996/97
A new landmark for All Saints as it grows to 4 classes! There are 90 on roll.
1997/98
The numbers reach 100 and although there are still 4 classes, the school keeps growing. Phase 1 of an ambitious and exciting building programme is launched and provides a reception area, office and staff toilet.
1999/2000
105 children are now on roll, still in 4 classes. The second phase of the building project gets under way. This promises the school a new classroom, glass corridor, cloakrooms and indoor toilets for the first time! The school is described as "exemplary", as the OFSTED inspectors return for a second time.
2000/01
102 children attend the school which still has 4 classes. Phase 2 is now complete as The Right Reverend Richard Hawkins declares the extension open on 3/11/2000.
2003/04
115 children attend the school which now has 5 classes.
2004/05
The school receives the Investors in People Award.
2005/06
Enabling works for the major building programme begin with removal of the swimming pool and the replacement of the very ancient septic tank.
2007
Phase 2 of the building works begin. The building works are finally completed by September, the school now has a Foundation Stage Unit and 2 new classrooms, all equipped with Smart Tchnology. The children use the classrooms for the beginning of the academic year in September.
2008
The new classroom is declared officially open by The Right Reverend Bishop Bob Evens on the 27th February 2008.
2009
The original school building has been renovated to include a new staff room, conference room and new office. There will be an official opening in the 20009/2010 academic year.
The Future?
Phases 2 and 3 of the building programme will enable the upgrade of the existing building and provide a badminton sized hall,
